How long are counselling appointments?

Most sessions will be for just under 1 hour in length.  Assessments may, however, be longer.  The number of sessions may vary but there will be regular joint reviews.

How confidential is counselling?

Everything will be kept in the strictest confidence except when the client is a danger to others or themselves, in cases of terrorism or money laundering, or if there is a disclosure of abuse towards a child or vulnerable adult.  I have a Supervisor with whom I discuss my work, but names are not disclosed.

What ethical practice guidelines do you follow?

I abide by guidelines set down by BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
