E.A.P. and Critical Incident Intervention

E.A.P.

Employment Assistance Programmes have been well established worldwide to assist employees with work problems and personal issues.  I work with a number of large EAP providers and have gained extensive experience over many years.

Employees report that such programmes help improve productivity, reduce sickness and absence, and provide an invaluable support.

Critical Incident Intervention

Research demonstrates that early intervention is a key principle to preventing long term, ongoing, negative effects following a critical incident.  I have undertaken certificated study in this area and have made on site visits involving group and individual work to good effect.

Defusing which takes place as soon as possible after the traumatic event aims to normalise reaction, provide practical recovery strategies and reduce intense reactions.  Debriefing uses a 7 phase model and includes recovery strategies following the TEAR acronym.
