My work in supervision began informally as a mentor, but has developed to embrace a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision. Following the Shoet and Hawkins model for ‘supervisors within the caring professions’ I offer supervision within a wide range of settings.
I have worked alongside a number of academic providers which also informs and updates my practice. “Supervision is recommended to anyone working in roles that require regularly giving or receiving emotionally challenging communications, or engaging in relationally complex and challenging roles.” (BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions 2018, section 73) and in these days of increased accountability this includes counsellors, psychotherapists, trainers and supervisors and extends across many other professions.
